Tom’s Update: April 2025

The PIER Team formally kicks off a partnership with the Yamaha Rightwaters™ Program.

This week the PIER team launched a new addition to its fleet, a fully refitted Boston Whaler Outrage.  The Whaler has been fully gone through and is now ready for the water.  The Whaler was generously outfitted with a 175-horsepower V MAX SHO® series outboard through the Yamaha Rightwaters™ Program.

PIER retired its previous Whaler in late 2024 after 25 years of service!  We are confident that the new addition will serve and support our research needs well into the future.

Looking Forward:  The PIER team is in the process of writing scientific manuscripts while also getting ready for the 2025 field season.

We are hopeful that 2025 will prove to be a productive one with work on tap ranging from Oregon to Mexico.
